The Friends of Murphysboro are proud to announce the third annual Big Muddy Monster Brew Festival, 1 pm - 4 pm October 20th, 2012

Your ticket to this bigfoot beer brewha will let you taste a number of craft beers and access to a day of great events, inlcuding live music, beer seminars, and vendors. There's also a sanctioned how brew contest.

Last year, more than 800 people sampled over 100 different types of beer from over 25 craft breweries from throughout the Midwest!

One of the best things in life is a good beer, and thankfully, more and more people are finding out this is true! All over the country breweries are springing up. They're bringing a variety of quality and fresh beer to the lips of millions who have maybe only known a few dull, stale beers that have had the flavor beaten out of them by mass production.

Murphysboro has it's own legacy of brewing. Along with other partners, Rudolph Stecher, a German immigrant from a family of brewers and coopers (makers of barrel or casks used in beer production), purchased a small local brewery in 1886. They renamed it the Murphysboro ...........
